Road Trip!

I have a new middle number!!!!!!  WOO!

I'm not ready to tell you what it is yet.  Give me a few more middle numbers and then we will talk.

I had to run up to Bloomington last week to Jo-Ann's.  You can't send a girl a 50% off coupon and expect her to stay home.  I had to stop for gas before I left and I decided to pop in a get a snack for the road.  I spent probably 15 minutes walking around, picking up snacks, and reading the labels.  I'm pretty sure the lady behind the counter thought I was debating on robbing her.

Has anyone ever tried to find something remotely healthy at a gas station?  It's a challenge.   I settled on a bag of Chex Mix because the calories/fat/and fiber counts looked good.  (I still can ballpark Weight Watcher points by looking at those numbers.)   Then I get in the car and realize those numbers are for 1 serving size, and the little bag contains 3 servings.  Greeeeeeeat.  So I should eat 5 pieces?!?!   The only redeeming thing was my amazing vanilla coke I bought.  (Remember my 1 coke a day rule?  If you are only going to have 1 a day, a vanilla gas station coke is the way to go peeps.)

So, I did my shopping and then needed to stop for lunch. I'm going to let you in on one of life's many treasures.

Honeybaked Ham.  Oooooooooooo, so good.  My Brandy introduced me to their Turkey Salad sandwich long ago.  (I know what you are thinking....Turkey Salad?  Are you serious?  I've heard of Chicken Salad being good, but Turkey?  Shudder.)  Trust me, when it comes to salads at Honeybaked, turkey is the way to go.  I like to get mine on a croissant.  (Oooo La La!)  It's a bit pricey, so I only go every once in a while.  There is one in Terre Haute by the Toys R' Us too.  (Pst.....I think their Turkey Salad is a smidge better than Bloomingtons.  Just saying.)

I tell you this #1 so that you can experience Honeybaked yourself, and #2 so that you know I am still enjoy foods that I really LOVE.  I've been working really hard on eating healthy, and it's ok to take a break once in a while.  I did skip the huge peanut butter cookie I usually get though.  I have to draw the line somewhere!

On a serious note, I couldn't believe the storm damage that is still present in the town of Bloomington.  They had a severe storm come through a few weeks ago, and there are still huge trees down, trailers torn apart, roofs of houses missing, and debris everywhere.  Driving into town was very sobering.  I guess I had assumed that everyone who had damage would be ok by now.  That's not the case.  Does anyone know if there is an organization set up for help yet?  Please remember these people (and those also in Joplin, Missouri)  in your prayers.
