Hello out there! It is Wallet Week at Prim & Posh. I have been working the past two days on recreating my wallets that I offer. Last week I ran into one of my customers who owns a few of my bags and a small wallet. She loved her bags, but had one change she would make....."I need a zipper on the outside of the wallet to get to my change quick." Ah ha! When I began making wallets last year, the zipper was a mystical contraption that scared the bajeebers out of me. I could tecnically put one in, but not very gracefully. Since then I had conqured the wiley beast. I simply had just not spent the time reworking my wallet pattern. Ah, a new challenge! This is the part of my job that I love!!
I also am working on a super chic diaper bag this week. It's going to be a patchy one, with "Hoo Hoo to You" as the base fabric. I will post pics when it is finished. I think it might be my favorite diaper bag yet! Also floating around in the back of my head is the Linton Holiday Bazaar that is coming up in November. It was where Prim & Posh first began two years ago. I had about 15 purses (all pretty much the same style, just different fabric) and a few table runners. I had made purses for my friends and family before, but never to sell to the public. I wasn't sure what would happen.... I am so thankful that people were interested. If you own one of those first bags, don't judge me based on it alone! A lot has changed in two years here! :) I am hoping to have some really fab bags ready for this year's Bazaar. I only do one a year now, and this one is the winner in my eyes. If you are in town, you should stop by. It will be November 6th, from 9am-3pm in the Linton High School Auditeria. I'll be the lady surrounded by all of the purses! Ha! Hello Prim & Posh fans. First of all, thank you so much for all of the support! Prim & Posh has had over 300 hits in just 3 days! That is an awesome start. I have another site I would like to suggest to you. My brother-in-law and sister-in-law are adopting a little girl from Ethiopia. They have created a blog to help tell the story of their sweet little girl's adoption. They are also having a fundraiser to help raise money to pay for the expenses. (They are raffling off an ipad people! You can't miss this!) Here is the link:
http://ourethiopiandaughter.weebly.com If you have a moment, you should really check it out. Brandy and Logan are such sweet people, and their son, River, is such an amazing little boy. I am just so excited for them, and I have to admit.....I am pumped about having a niece! I have two sons and one nephew, so she will be our first little girl in the family. Oh, the purses I see in her future! I might just have to make a dress or two for her as well.... Well, here goes! My super, awesome Sister-in-Law called me last night about weebly. I have been looking for a home for Prim & Posh for a few months now, and facebook just wasn't cutting it. (Sorry facebook enthusiasts! I will still be there too, but this will eventually become my base site.) Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised. I've got my Fall/Winter fabrics up and running, and now I am working on getting the Styles all on here.
I just got my regular sewing machine back from my Singer Lady this week. I knew I was pretty hard on my machines, but I guess I had really given this one a workout! It has been gone about a month, and it ended up having to go to Illinios to a Singer Specialist. Since it has been gone I purchased a Singer "Heavy Duty" machine at Jo-Ann Fabrics the other day. I couldn't believe how it really powered through my tough spots when putting together a bag. Always before I dreaded that last step....when it was time to sew all of the liners, interfacings, and fabrics together. I would push and pull to get it to feed through correctly. This baby just powered right through it like it was nothing! I can't believe I didn't upgrade before! My fancy pants machine will still be great for the stippling I do (stippling= that swirly free-handed sewing I do on the bags.). I have been playing around with some great corduroy fabrics this last week. "Blue Reflection", "Hippie Chic," and "Hoo Hoo to You" are all corduroys this season. I am loving this fall weather we have been having lately, and nothing says fall like a sweet corduroy bag! |
